1 more barrel(E.triglochidiatus)to go!.....
and H.parvaflora-the bloom stalk is about 6'

Jim
Great looking bed. The parviflora spike is sooooo nice.
Agaves and palms, yuccas and nanas have really responded to the heat.

Looks like your neighbors gave up trying to garden...can't compete with you.
Imagine if they did what you do...the whole street!

That tall skinny cactus in a pot looks a bit like one I have.
Will take a pic and post it here. maybe you can ID.

Hey, your "how'd that get in here" pic is a great idea for some fun.
I'm guessing it's NOT Iowa 😆 😆 Colorado? Alaska?

Barb

For the life of me, can't remember this cactus name:
It doesn't resemble yours after all on closer inspection.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for posting the pics. When in bloom, cactuses put on their best ball dresses and celebrate life with an unbeleivable beauty!!!!!! I still remember the thrill I felt when I saw my first cactus in bloom (Rebutia sp., I think not wonterhardy).

Quick question:

- the broader leaved, bvariegated yucca behind the Y filamentosa, is it Y. gloriosa? I like it a lot.
- Also, the red flower, does it belomng to a Hesperaloe?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Barb,

re your picture: isn't it rather an Euphorbia sp.?

Also, your plam baby is very sharp....

Barb
The column cactus(which is what it is sometimes referred to)is Cereus peruvianus.

My guess is (yours is) some form of Euphorbia lactea.

Robreti
There is a Y.gloriosa across from Y.Rostrata and behind the Y.filamentosa 'colorguard'

The large red bloom-stalk is from H.parvaflora

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Jim,
that is a beauty!

...and to the left, folks, is the only palm Jim hasn't saved by cutting it down to green wood. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Looks like that trunk is taking on some petrifying qualities near those hot cacti, might be time to call the Smithsonian 😉
