Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

That's awesome Aaron. 😀 Can't wait to plant mine. But it's not quite that big. 🙂

Beautiful. Much larger than mine. How long have you had it?

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

I am not sure how long I have had it for? Maybe 5 years? This is one of the better looking forms and has been completely cold here. I have others, but this one is by far the best I have. It grows to a nice blue and grows fast. The one in the pic has been reduced in size for the past couple of summers 🙂

Great looking cactus. What are the cahnces of this species surviving in an area like mine? If I put it in sharp drainage and under an eve?

Wes, This particular one of the sp. does very well in the cold so I would think it would do very good in the wet?

I have posted pics of my desert.

Wes;

If you want a pad from my Opuntias -- the O. basilarus; O. basilarus v. basilarus; and/or O. polycanthus let me know.

I have had mine for 1 or 2 years and can mail you a pad or 3 this summer.

My cacti grow in heavy loam that is well drained and do quite well. You would need to put these in full sun and, if possible, in front of something white that will reflect more sun on to them.

E mail me with your address and let me know what you would like.
