That is great news Tim, I hope to see what that cross would look like. 😯

I think the flowers are all gone now off the Y. nana, but there is always next year. 😀

I took a couple of pods of Y. neomexicana and put them in the cooler for the Y.elata. 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron, Y. elata blooming? And it's not that big? Boy..............what are you doing?? You gotta get a Y. elata x neomexicana and a Y. neomexicana x elata (if there is enough time). My 6' tall elata still has not bloomed. What da?

<img src= >

I now around here yucca elata may not bloom every year, as the same with Y. baccata. My big baccata only blooms every other year or so? 😐

Awesome!

Mine will be open next weekend, and I hope to make some hybrids then (I have pollen from Pallida and rostrata, not to mention the recurv. x filata, and filamentosa... Turns out none of my glauca will bloom this year. Damn.).

Tim those stalks are enormous.

Aaron,

that Y. elata is so cool. Keep us updated on it's bloom. 8)

PS, did you get any seed pods?

Paul,

I held off sending you pollen so you'll get it 'fresh'. My first flower of Y. 'constricata x filamentosa' x 'filamentosa x elata' opened last night. I'll pack some of that up for you. One tip...I have best success pollenating the flowers which open up later (on the ends of the branches). Not sure why.........but save some pollen for the end of the bloom too. PS, kill as many beetles as you can....I usually pick them and 'squeeze' them hard. 👿
