Two lovely specimens Aaron 😀 I have to say that I get confused between Yucca Torreyi and Yucca Baccata.... they do look similar. I have Yucca Baccata but when I see your larger Torreyi I see a double take
Yucca Baccata

That does look like torreyi, or could be one of the trunking baccatas form S.E. Arizona. They also have those straight up leaves. Hard to say there is so many different baccata. I think once upon a time torreyi was known as Yucca baccata var torreyi?

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Hi Aaron.......it's great to see Y. torreyi surviving in 5b. I hope it can survive with a little trunk. I bet it wil die when the trunk shows or is about to show. Keep the updates coming.

Andy.......your baccata is a beauty...........for some reason they don't like my climate. I have a 13 year old seedling which looks like a seedling. It keeps growing and dying back to ground level.......never getting larger.

They are ify here. I have had them die and survive winters, but now I keep them covered until they get bigger. They may or may not live but only time will tell. The are hardy in the next half zone wamer, just south of me, but here they are out in the open things getter colder longer. I'm hoping they are like my big j-tree, it got much more hardy with time. 🙂

die when the trunk shows

Damn shame when the trunk is the least hardy of the entire plant.
Anybody ever tried wrapping corrugated cardboard around the trunk and tying it with string?
Probably just a home for a million earwigs...

It could be that they are more acceptable to root rot, crown rot as they get older? Yucca brevifolia can take wetter weather when small, but may rot in the same place when older. Either way I think they do better with the drier winters. 😐
