How much sun does it get? How large is it? What type of soil is it in? How much fertilizer does it receive?

I'd say the most obvious answer is that it is getting too little sun. However, if it is in full sun it is possible that the continual disturbance of the root system is hampering development.

It is in full sun all year long facing south, but i must say in the past few years, a lot of other plants have encroached upon it, like pachysandra, vinca vines etc....
I do feed it organic epsoma fertilizer. The cuttings I give to evryone else bloom lovely blooms in the sam eyear. Maybe I should just cut it way back????

Might be that the shade cast by pachysandra and vinca is cooling the soil?

Glad to say my yuccsa is sending up a large shoot/flower. I also cleared all the surrounding groundcover plants today and cut the "leaves" close to the ground that covered the ground and basically squashed down from all the snow this year

You cleared pachysandra?
For the moment, anyway 😆 😆

I took a pickaxe-mattock to 40 square feet of pachysandra...it's returning with a vengeance.
And I'm still going to the chiropractor
😕

Roundup's next.

Mike, thanks for posting those pics.

That is indeed beautiful, and growing so fast it can barely hold up the flower spike 8)
Gorgeous variegation.

My y.filamentosa aren't beginning to move a spike yet.
You folks are weeks ahead (maybe even a month) of us this year.

Just came back from our place in cape may tonight and i must say 2 days of hot sun did wonders for the yucca: it is sticking straight up and looking quite proud. looks like someone gave it a few shots of Viagra...
Chat soon barb...

That was certainly worth waiting for, Mike. 😀

Great landscaping...love it!
Thanks
