I have two potted Yucca rostrata. In the past, both came in for the winter. This year, the trunked one was so d%$n heavy I left it outdoors by the front door, under overhead protection and by a single-pane window.
The smaller one was indoors by a west-facing window.
Both were watered a little, but mostly dry.

This photo from yesterday shows the two of them outdoors in the sun again.
In brief, the one that was outdoors looks WAY healthier. So, I plan to leave both out in future winters here in Oklahoma.

Nice, any idea how old the big one is?

I bought it three years ago, and it had been recently field-dug and had no roots.

Great color on the tall one.
Nice to see it came through unscathed.

Since you've decided they'll stay out, any plans to plant them in that sheltered area?

Thanks!

I had planted the tall one, at the farm, but had to dig it up, poor thing, a few months later.
Plan right now is to grow it in pot until W and I have a long-term place, perhaps in Texas. 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Well, no one ever called Texas, "cool"! 😆
Nearly as hot down there as it is here, what with our 40 oC days each Summer.

No news any year soon, sort of a pre-retirement idea now. It was that guy in Corpus saying they had a very cold winter, even had frost on the windshield one morning, that got us. 😯

You are never too young to retire, I'm planning on age 55.

PS. Anyone out there willing to donate to my retirement fund can e-mail me. 😀

Isn't that "never too broke to retire". 😆

Lottery, yup, that's it.
Only thing is I'll be 327 years old when I win. :cussing:

Well, I'm sort of dreaming of a semi-retirement starting in my 50s in which I work fewer hours for a decade or two.
