My unknown yucca now:

Check this trunk out 😉

One-year old Y. Filamentosa x elata 'Big Mama', recently planted:

Should I dig it up before winter or leave as it is?

Y. neomexicana from Mesa Garden. Very small seedling:

My small neomexicana alive & kicking 😉

Mystery yucca from bird's eye view

My baccata lost 90% of leaves when got flooded in late Autumn by accident. Now it's recovering:

It grows under the glass cuz doesn't like our high precipitation. Too much rain and leaves are turning brown and dying.

Y. elegantissima / schellenbaum

Gloriosa

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Marceli,

Your plants looks great.

Yucca Elegantissima is one of my favorite Yuccas. This year one rosette will be in bloom, in maybe 2-3 weeks this is much earlier than usual (blooms normally in September-October) , so I might get lucky to pollinate it with another Yucca 🙂

Have a nice day

Benny

Update.

Y. baccata:

Y. uknown close-up:

They will have a roof above them soon:

Y. filata 'Big Mama'. Not too many leaves, but I hope she grew some serious roots by now. I wonder if she survives our winter.

Hello marcel,

Your plants looks great, with a very nice compact growth.

I can see on the photos, that many of your Yucca has the base of the plant above the surface.

I have a suggestion for you, based on personal experience.

I have noticed, that if a new Yucca is planted a little deeper, than one would think, with the lover leaves just below the surface, then the Yucca grow faster, and will it will grow a thicker base. A good base is very important when the Yucca in time will be in bloom. If the base is too thin-weak the heavy bloom will make the plant to tilt when it's windy or rainy weather conditions or and staking might be necessary.

Happy Yucca growing

Benny
