Nights are getting real cold. Tonight it went down to 36F/2C. My yuccas are covered from now on:

My plants under a 'teepee' are no longer covered due to the Hurricane Xavier. He torn apart their winter cover:

My other polytunnel ad plants growing there are luckily safe:

Ouch! Darn Xavier!
Can you patch the plastic? or add another layer over the whole thing?

Hope that beauty gets some sun to dry it.

Impossible to do that with so strong wind. Felt like I was holding a parachute 🙁

I left my yucca plants and some agaves for overwintering inside of my unheated GH. LAst morning it was minus 11C outside but 0 C inside of the GH. It is the Bonus!

I worry about strong winds too! I hope the protection is OK and works all winter.

I noticed a lot of variation between my Y. constricta x filamentosa x filata 'Big Mama' seedlings.......I hope they turn into interesting hybrids.

eat more, marceli 😆

That's perfect, Igor, for overwintering yuccas.

It'll be interesting to see which are hardiest.
But you'd have to bring them to my place to test that. 😉

The wind was blowing about 60mph, so I'm afraid a good breakfast wouldn't be enough 😆

The most important thing is that Xavier its gone now and I can repair the damage.

Ouch, that makes your nice mild temperature colder.

60 mph is much better than 30 m/sec.... But it's not about us.... THe North part of Kazakhstan got 30 m per second wind along with snow last week... All settlements were closed... No commuting between them for 2-3 days.

30 m per second

1800 metres a minute, a mile a minute, somehow doesn't seem (to my brain anyway) a strong wind.
:idea1: :dontknow:
