Hi Aaron,

big mama leaves (when in full glory) are 37" long.........so that Y. thompsoniana is 😯

Funny thing is 'big mama' is not always that big.........leaves are narrower and shorter until it blooms. If I took a photo of it now it would be called 'little mama'. 😆

How long are your elata leaves? I think mine are 36inches. I will later measure them to be sure. 😕

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I measured my elata and the leaves are only 30 inches, so that big Yucca thompson might only have leaves 36" long. I hope to get a measurement on them later. 😉

I would say, 60-70 years? Probably was planted at the time the hotel was built, and was 6-8 feet tall when planted? Just a guess 😆

I did not check 😐

He sent a pic back to the supplier and they belive it is a cross of thompson, rostrata, and elata? I think that was what he told me. 😆

I've been thinking about this and I think it did have smooth edges, because it had leaves like elata without filiments. It makes sense for it too be crossed with elata, because the whole seller has thier rostrata/thompson yucca farm not far from my place in az where there is lots of elata. 😉

Cool huh. 😀 Next time I go there I want to find it. I will try and find the link, the dragoon mts are in the back ground same as my property. 😉

They grow them there becuase they do better in the high desert.
