In my garden, the first yucca to show good spring growth is the Joshua trees.
This pic was taken in Aprol 8 of 2012 in Idaho.
J-tree bloom.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

It is still alive, but is 25 miles south of me. I will try and get some pics next month. 😀

Gorgeous!

I would say the Y.Aloifolia grows first but I hacked them down last year so it will be a while!

If you attempt hybrids with brevifolia you'll be a hero forever!

I don't know if they ever really stop growing around here, but the one that I notice moving most quickly in spring is Y. glauca/

If mine ever blooms, I will send some pollen to Tim or anyone else that wants some. 😀 Than we will see what happens!
I think the reason there is no brevifolia hybrids is because it blooms so early compared to other yuccas. 😐

that J Tree is a beauty Aaron!

I took a few shots of the Yuccas which break dormancy first in my climate.........many are just starting to break.....not very noticeable except for these:

Yucca flaccida x 'reverchonii-thompsoniana'
<img src= >

Yucca filamentosa x rostrata
<img src= >

Yucca cernua
<img src= >

Planted a Dasylirion yesterday too!
