A nice woman in my neighborhood let me dig out one her yuccas, she had about 5 of them, this was one of the smaller ones.

Hers are pretty hardy and had longer trunks than the usual clumping variety I see around the East Coast and don't really care for. She said they were brought back from New Mexico.

Leaves are very rigid and will almost break the skin.

Anyone recognize the variety?

Hard to say, but it could be rigida? Do you have a pic of a bigger one? And do you know what part of NM? 🙂

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

No unfortunately I don't know what part of NM, I think wherever the air force base is or close. The mother plant for this looks like it could be a rigida, longer stem and blades that stick out aggressively. I will get a pic of that, maybe it will help.

I can't remember ever seeing the white flowers on the mother either.

another photo would be great. The Yucca in the photo looks like a east coast Yucca to me such as Y. recurvifolia/gloriosa. More photos will help! 😀
