How many seeds did you plant, Godfryd?

Mine are very weak looking.
Since my weather is mild and sunny, I've put the community pot outside again.

Good luck with your Dasylirion, Godfryd.

I've killed Dasylirion small and large. Here's a 10 gallon one that died in December with a low of only in the teens. I guess it didn't like the snow!

Here's a D. wheeleri I picked up in Tucson, AZ as a 5 gallon. It died first winter.

They seem to die early in my climate. Not even worth another try in my opinion unless you keep moisture off them.....we get 10cm every month.

Oh how sad Tim to lose them, especially as they get bigger.
Such magnificent speciments.

Look at the leaf-hooks in that 3rd pic 😯 Ouch!

Tim, I've gotta say it again....I love the snow tunnels you end up digging to your plants.
I laugh every time, and think back to the 2-inch high Christmas light tunnel in the snow between house and plants.
😆

Perhaps on Monday I'm gonna buy a quite mature specimen of D.wheeleri for 150 $. Unlikely if I would leave it for winter outside but the plant itself looks very unusual. What a bonus!

Hi Barb,

I don't have the 'snow tunnel' problem this winter......NO SNOW. We only had 2" so far this season......it's been warm.

That's so sad - Dasylyrion won't survive in our 6 USDA zone. Fine that you tried. Thx.

Keep exoting!

yes it sure as heck is!

Igor, that must be a beautiful specimen you're buying...a good size?

Tim, yes, that's the pic that always gets me roaring with laughter.
Thanks for posting it again.

Cheap enough to try from seed. I have some I can send for free. 😀

PS. Keep plants high and dry and you might have good luck? I tried many Yucca brevifolias before I found a few that lived. 😉

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Aaron, I will be remember your offer 🙂
As far I have one Dasylirion from the seed - it started to grow some weeks ago (I put the photos in this topic) so I'll be trying with it in the future 🙂

In exotic plant store near me they have Dasylirion for about 77 $. Look at this

Yep, as I promised to myself a Dasylirion was purchased today. Compared with his brother in Poland mine is overpriced twice! Oh, poor plants enthusiasts in Kazakhstan!

Sense we are talking about Dasylirion. Here is the best I have seen other than in the wild.

Willcox AZ, double headed. I should have taken a better pic.
