Here is 1 of 3 or 4 Joshuas at the local gardens maintained by the Colorado State University Extension and the Chinle Cactus Club.
Apparently these have been here for nearly 15 years and look great. We have had some cold inversions in the valley too.
Only 15 years? wow.
In the wild, that'd be 100 years.

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
15 years from seed? I would guess 15 years from potted plant, but they do grow fast!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I don't believe this plant is only 15yrs old! 😯
http://palmiarnia.info - all about hardy tropical plants in Poland & forum!
So I received an email from the www.chinlecactusclub.org member/club founder that planted the Brevifolia (Photo above) whose age we were discussing. Here is his answer quoted from the email.
"They were seed grown by a friend in Utah. When he gave the three largest ones to us about 12 years ago they were probably 2-3 years old and in 1 gal. pots. They have been in the ground since about 2002".
Wow.
Heck, we should get him to grow OUR plants.
Wonder if he's interested in fooling around...with an old lady. 😆 😆 (kidding)

They do grow fast after about the first 5 yeas, much faster than people realize, including myself. 😉
