Well ... who knows what this will look like after the crushing weight of the recent snow? The snow has the consistency of wet cement and has had it's day with this Yucca. (yes ... same as the one pictured above 😯 )

Cheers, Barrie.

I hope that the trunk isn't damaged.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

What a year, huh?
That yucca was blooming a couple of weeks ago...then PLOP.

Bet it'll make it fine!

I'm not the least bit concerned about it's survival, just what it'll look like if the snow ever melts so I can see it again.

Cheers, Barrie.

The crushing weight of the snow is begining to show. "About to flower" has become "About to cower" 😆

Cheers, Barrie.

Be that will root if you cut it off cleanly.

Yup. It will root no problem, just clean the wound and treat with fungicide before polpping it into place! Still, it's a shame to see such a fine Yucca in pain!

That sucks to lose a nice sized yucca.

Well I didn't "lose" it, just a set back is all. These originally where just set in the ground to root on. No fungicide or special treatment was given, only a routine watering to promote root growth. I'll do the same with the broken stem.
BTW ... it looked like a weak point on this one anyway.

Cheers, Barrie.
