Barb,be carefull not to let it get to much water in spring as soil temps will be lower than when you tried this past fall, once the soil warms up you can give it a good soaker.

Finally in the ground, hopefully for good.
With its two heads, it'll be gorgeous one day.
But the yucca filamentosa took a beating this winter!
Glad I didn't lose them, but there's a lot of winter damage:

Hi Barb
I agree with Aaron. This is not rostrata.
This is rigida !!!!!!!!!! 100%
Regards
Josef
I'd better look up rigida to learn its hardiness.
Almost lost an eye planting this thing! Ouch.
Hope it can handle our brutally cold winters (-27 C) in a leaf cage with styrofoam.
Otherwise it'll be a goner.
Thanks!
Barb

Re rigida: there are no yellow margins or tiny teeth on my specimen.
OOPS! YES IT DOES HAVE A YELLOW MARGIN ON EACH SIDE OF LEAF, BUT NO TEETH.
Yucca rigida is in general a single trunked species, but occasionally it forms multiple trunks growing up to 4-5m height. The beautiful light blue stiff leaves are 30-70 cm long and are 1,2 to 2 cm wide, but in cultivation they can reach 120 cm in length, ending in a stiff dark brown spine. The leaves are also lined with a yellow margin and very tiny teeth.

As Y. rigida, it's not as cold hardy as Y. rostrata.
