This is completely off topic, but I thought I would share it with everyone on PalmsNorth.
I'd been meaning to make a video for the past year or so, to discuss briefly why I think "the Big Bang" theory is just not right.
This is a video response to a one hour documentary on what scientists in Europe believe to be a way to travel faster than light.
Or maybe proof of string theory.
I don't think it is that complicated. My view is purely scientific, but perhaps I am wrong.
Have a look, if you wish. It is less than three minutes. Reference to the one hour youtube documentary is in my youtube video description, hit "more".
Thanks for looking!
Here is my clip:

This just so happens to be one of my favorite topics.
THe first point you made, I can agree to a point for sure. The only problem are branches of science based on those studies..
As for the "no big bang" thing.... I tend to think 2 things...
1 - That the general theory is right. The problem is, most people think of nothing as "no-thing", literally absence of any existance at all. What those people make the mistake of, is misunderstanding quantum concepts. You can literally clock back the the split second after the creation of the universe. THings get smaller, closer together and more basic. The problem with the big bang is, if the pattern holds, that the random "popping" of matter in and out of existance happens ALL THE TIME in the quantum world. The physics and what not used between physics (as in the visible), and quantum (things you cant see) can be quite different. The most current theory is that it didnt come out of no-thing, we just cant see that level with telescopes. You can look into an "empty" patch of sky with a good telescope, and see that there is no "empty sky". The same principle works here.
2 - I have thought of the "rebirth of a universe from the death of another" for quite a while now. Ecological processes tend to be reciprical - as in give/take/give. A closed system with a bare minimum of inputs to keep it self sustaining. We die, rot, feed animals and soil bacteria, which plants used to grow, which animals eat, deficate, feed soil etc. Some people tend to think the universe runs the same way.
The really odd thing is that its postulated (and believed) that if you were to get sucked into a black hole (and not be torn apart into the most basic building blocks of matter), you would see the rest of the universe unfold in an instant. In this line of thinking, black holes could be feeding the creation of another universe, which may be an instant, rather then the billion year happenigs on this side of the black hole.
This isnt what I believe as a whole, but it makes some odd sense.
The best part about thinking BEFORE the bang, was that no one can say with 100% certainty (yet) as to what happened, so we can all kinda toss ideas around, scholars or not
