Hostas
It is amazing that you can have hostas and cacti so close together when one likes to be moist and in the shade and the other in the full sun and dry.
I have no luck with hostas due to the amount of snails and slugs I got. They eat them before they get to a good size.

The hostas are beautiful. I have had mine only 1 year and they are so much smaller.
The best way to control slugs is to cut off the bottom 1 1/2" of a plastic pop bottle and put about 1" of beer in it. Put one or two in the damp shade and watch the drunks drown. Seems like a waste of good beer, but I use the cheap stuff so it is not much of a loss.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
