Alocasia nigra shooting, leafing and flowering all at once

Newest garden was done this spring (2012) with Yucca glauca, Alocasia nigra and Phyllostachys bambusoides

You mean Colocasia (taro), right?? I grow colocasia from taro bulb bought in Toronto in 2005. This is only one source to get them here. Good luck with yours!

Igor, you are right! Garden centres often mislabel these as alocasia.... which would hate the full sun and these love full sun and are upon further research Colocasia!

I noticed one of my Giant green ones is staring to bloom yesterday. I have a had a few bloom not regularly though.
