Blue Pot Palm sale!

Post by Paul Ont » Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:07 am

Note: I am in no way affiliated with any plant retailer, just a nut who is passing along some info:

The 'Blue Pot Palms' in the GTA are now on sale for 50% off. These are available at all Sheridan Nursery Locations. They have huge 15 gallon needle palms for 100, giant 10 gallon needles for 50, and decent sized Sabal minors for 20. They have these palms at all locations. Selection includes Sabal minor, R. hystrix, Trachycarpus fortunei, Chammies (blue and normal), Butia (few remain), Phoenix spp., and maybe others (though not at the location I visited).

I recommend that you check it out this weekend if you're in the area.

Yeah I got some in a blue pot but I had to go to a Lowes in Missouri to get them, they had the palms in the blue pots too. I got 2 Sabal Minors and 2 needle palms. I think they were all like 14.95 each

note: This is Ontario, Canada, NOT the palm growing west coast region (B.C.)!

Having hardy palms is pretty commonplace here, I only posted because the palms are on sale now... There was a time, even 8 years ago, when there were no hardy palms here, maybe your region will change too?

I bought a 3 foot tall Chamaerops humilis cerifera in a 14" blue pot today at Sheridan southdown Mississauga. 50 bucks.
Pics to follow.. Paul, thank you for the heads up about the sale. I was tempted to get the 4 foot tall CADP that was also 50 dollars, but i went for "hardier"

No worries! If the palms go 75% off I'm going to snap up all of their huge needle palms!

Those cerifera are amazing for sure... Had I more money I would have picked one up for sure.
