Since my hoist is still at the original site I had to use my house to get Sago #1 off my truck

about 5$ worth of scrap wood I threw together

All I had was shells from my driveway
Image

Silt/sugar sand, i usually like to wash all the clay out of it but it was 10pm and was tired as hell

I use to have a 95 f-450 with a powerstroke and 2001 gmc top kick to haul my t-300 bobcat but the economy claimed all those in 2007. Would like to get those things again little by little

They may have had an older model truck back then-only 1 horsepower

Economy bad here, too--lost the truck and farm. Have the 1 horsepower "truck" out in a pasture, though!
He never nibbled my sago palms, smart thing.
I'll have a diesel truck (Chevy k2500, '02) soon as my tax refund hits. Then I can haul some big plants!

Hey Vinny...Saw you on the bananas.org forum too. Your place is real nice. Love N'awlins....Love sagos too. I cut a hunk of offshoot last year on my large one. It is still alive but hasn't grown much...anyone know how long it takes for the "pups" to start to grow once they are cut from the mother plant?

I have had some that I rooted that took a year or so to finally flush out some new leaves. Do you know if it has rooted?

Not sure if it has rooted, but the two small "leaves" it started with are large and green now, it looks likeit is alive but no real changes over the winter even in a sunny spot. When i cut it from the original plan i got a good 2 cm hunk of the original plant, at present the two "leaves" are about 4 inches each in ht.

Vinny, wow.
Gotta show H those pics ... our area is drier than a popcorn fart (oops sorry  ), so it's really cool to see a house on stilts at water's edge

OK now the sagos....WHAT A SCORE!!!!!! :D :D :D

And what a huge job, love the improv hoist.
Nice carpentry job on those planters too...maybe put casters on 'em to tow behind your truck if you move again.

Mike, what's Scrapple?

Hey Barb, hope you are well. Scrapple is an east coast Pennsylvania Dutch "delicacy". Basically a greasy fried mush of pork scraps and pork ends and trimmings.... Too greasyfor me...

Hey Mike, yup, just a bum new computer

Sheesh, the way you describe scrapple...I'm opting for toast ... to soak up the fat. Yuk.
