Don,
are those seedlings in that greenhouse?
How do you keep it warm enough?

Thanks Cameron.

Erik
I have a gas heater in there, and the bubble wrap is over the greenhouse completely, which really does a fantastic job holding in the heat,it did get down to 54* in the least night.and the thermometer is next to the door, where it gets a little cooler,in the middle of the greenhouse its a lot warmer.

Don, great palms, great pics!

Quite a range of palm species, and all look well grown.
Bet that Hyophorbe wasn't easy...I finally bought a 7-footer, love dragging it around twice a year indoors/outdoors.

That King looks tall already for such a youngster...very nice.

It occurred to me that you have more species than most of the nurseries we deal with. :laughing1:

More pics please :thumbleft:

Thanks Barb
And I have many more as well.
I need to pot up a lot of palms, but all my greenhouses are full, and no place to put any more.
I have many more palms still waiting to pop.
Just had a dozen date palms pop this week, and they really grow fast right out of the seed!

Something just occurred to me, Don.

I bought a new Pygmy Date Palm a few months ago, tag indicated a big Florida nursery.

Bet none of your PDP's have this problem:

While I don't think it's that devastating red palm weevil that's shown up in CA (and loves Phoenix sp!), palmetto weevil damage manifests itself this way. And Florida does have palmetto weevils.

My point? Wish I had been able to buy from you...your plants are obviously clean.
Barb

PS--anybody know if my PDP is doomed?

I had to get rid of my biggest one this summer, same thing,I even washed off all the soil and repotted it but by fall it was a goner,I thought maybe it was what they call black weevil,it went fast!
I got a bunch of seeds recently and they have popped and growing good.

I've read that an acoustic device (other than a stethoscope  ) captures sounds of the grubs chewing inside the stems.

was yours a new tree?
I'm going to look for my receipt, and take it back to the nursery.

How awful those beggars love Phoenix species.
There's gotta be a predator for weevils, but I've never seen "weevils flying around", have you?

Thanks Dean
It is 12ft tall and I have a loft in there, and they seem to grow nicely up there,I have fans blowing from all directions and they seem to thrive up there in the top of the greenhouse.
