Josef, I dig the low angle shots, makes the palms all look bigger! Do you have any from normal standing height so we can get an idea of how large the palms are?

Hi Paul
Low this winter -17.2 C.Palms protected.
Big trachy is about 350cm high.Jubaea I bought 7years back diam stamm 8cm.

Now is 30cm

And that Jubea...wow!

I'm so envious of your winter temperatures...we hit -27 C, a very long and cold winter this year.

Big trachy produce 10-11 full rollout leaves every year.This year only 10./chilly May and June, only 4 leaves/,
other 6 leaves in July till September/Nice and warm/When warm, perhaps one more in October.
My jubaea this year 7 new leaves !!!!I think Jubaea have not problem with cold /chilly/ summer/.

10 or 11 leaves a year is wonderful!!!! Well done!
I hope mine will perform so well soon.

I see more palms in pots in the background of that picture.
Are you planting them this Fall? or next Spring?

Your weather must be mild, because deciduous trees are still holding leaves.

A few years ago, you were interviewed on Czech TV to show your winter protection.
Please post the video link so we can see it again.

You have THE most beautiful property display and specimens!

Simply jaw-dropping gorgeous, as always.

Feel the same way as Erik re the latitude and exposure.
I remember looking up Prague and wondering why the hell I couldn't do the same thing.
Then I saw a document that says the Eastern Pacific Ocean/Western half of North America is COOLING.

And I've lost enough valuable plants to not try more.

I'll just enjoy your pictures, Josef.

Remember when the TV station interviewed you, Josef???? about winter protection????
