EMERGENCY

Post by Kansas » Mon Apr 06, 2009 2:45 pm

Maybe I am jumping the gun, but is my 6' tall Faxy about to flower, or is this a PROBLEM. Hope it's just flowering cause I LOVE my Faxy.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

OOOOHH BLESS YOU!!!!!! Thanks for easing my mind. I was so worried.
Now, I want to keep the flower stalk until they turn brown, then can I cut the stalk? and if so, where do I cut it at? Thanks so much for the help.

Yea, just do like you said. It does not matter how short you cut the flower stock after it is all done.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Thanks and I sure will keep the progress updated here. I have wondered about it flowering since I got it like 3 years ago.

Wes nice to see the blooming on your yucca. How long has it been planted there? How are those W. robutsta seedlings doing now from the seeds I sent you?

OK, the flower is now about done. How do I go about taking it off? Do I need to wait all Summer when it's dried up? Reason I want to take it off now is because the flower seems to have taken all the energy and the lower leaves are all brown and wilted down now.

I am not sure what would be best for it? If it was just another yucca I would say cut it off, but I would hate to give you bad advise.

If it is growing I would say it should be ok to cut it off, but just a guess?
