I was going to order three trees from these people but thought I would check with you all first.
They have an 84% positive rating on "Garden Watchdog", and the lady that I talked to on the phone was very helpfull.
Has anybody here done business with them?

I have never had a problem with them, other then they have a min. order amout and they charge a lot for their plants.
They do however sell very nice plants that are hard to find and have always given me very good service. The palms I have bought from them have been of good mail order size :D I think you will like them. I plan on buying a couple of things from them this year :D

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thats what I read when I went to "Garden Watchdog" that they were pricey.
But when I told the lady what I wanted and then asked for postage charge, she told me it was only $21.00.
Is this $21.00 per tree? Cause $21.00 for all 3 together seems pretty darn good. But then again I am used to spending $30-$35.00 on shipments I mail out to Japan for boxing stuff.

In thier 2006 catalog there is a minimum order of $35.00 plus a $18-$30.00 shipping charge. I think I would call them again for a better quote. I think the $21.00 was just for shipping  I know thier plants in the cactalog range from $9.00 to $35.00 dallors, but most seem to be around the $12-$15.00 amount. I hope this helps :D

I highly recommend Plant Delights.

Also for cold tolerant palms, all on line,

Neotropic Nursery Services (Gerry McKiness)

Gary's Nursery, (Gary Hollar) (Although he no longer regularly ships)

World Wide Plants, (Jeff Picazio)

Greenleaf Nursery

You are the second guy to recommend NEOTROPIC.
If it's the same one, its a guy that used to be in Atlanta but moved to Florida and is a great Christian gentleman?
I think after my "Delights" buy, I will try him.
I am looking for a juvey "Royal". It's on his pictures site, but not his sale list. I REALLY want one so hopefully he will get one.

Kansas, that is indeed Gerry. (Neotropics - Gerry's Jungle) His plants are the best, and they are always well hardened.

You can get there through my website - click on the website icon, and on my homepage click on Palms in Colorado Springs. About halfway down the page are good links.

As an eBay seller, I know that shipping is expensive. But there are a lot of companies that are charging you a handling fee and a packing fee mixed in with their postage fee. I am not saying PD does that because I don't know for certain, but their shipping seems very expensive to me. Plant Delights is expensive for their plants, especially for what you get. For example, their Colocasia escuelenta Yellow Splash on page 34 of this years new catalog is $28 for a 24 oz pot. And unless you order it in the height of the growing season, its dormant when you get it because they don't greenhouse their plants in warm greenhouses, they keep everything in cold frames at 32F. We can buy that locally, a 3 gallon container stuffed full, for $12-15. I buy plants regularly from Tropiflora in South FL and have never had a shipping charge over $16, even for huge shipments that weigh over 25 lbs. They have a separate packing fee of $4 per box up front so you know what you are paying for. They ship Fed Ex and everything gets there in prime condition. I ordered from PD once and have crossed them off my list for future orders

Pazuzu, are you the guy that has "Royal" on Ebay for like $21?????
I was about 2 seconds from calling my sister who has an E-Bay account and have her buy one for me.
I would love a "Royal" especially a 3'er like it is.
Personally, I thought Plant Delights was reasonable, and shipping was alright too. However, like I stated before, I am used to paying high prices for mail with my other biz. I had to spend over $30 sometimes to ship to Japan, Aussy, & Thailand.

No that's not me. I'm a gal, not a guy. I don't sell palms on eBay (actually I don't sell palms at all) I sell bromeliads, heliconias, aroids, etc

I'll certainly try to give you all the benefit of my pineapple knowledge (hah hah) Actually I grow a few pineapples, mainly the big variegated ornamentals that very rarely bloom. Here in FL the deer have a predilection for the green type of pineapple, probably because their spines aren't as wicked as the variegated ones so they are easier to chomp.

Plant Delights:

Great, healthy plants, but pricey. Also shipping isn't cheap. Use them when you can't find what you want elsewhere.

Good luck.
