Would like to put something don't to prevent weeds from growing. Is it safe to use this product?

Go for it. Preem is a pre-emergent herbicide. It only works on germinating seeds.

Just a double check.
What does package instruction say?

Haven't heard of that product...is it a soil sterilant?

I don't have any bags in front of me, but i have used Preen in the past in my beds. It only works on weeds that are gerninating from seed. It has no effect on perenniel or established weeds. FYI, I have found that corn gluten will do the same thing if you time it right. Now is the time!!

Craig, I have heard of the corn gluten working.

I'd be so worried about palms though, and scared to use a pre-emergent around them.

You should try the corn gluten. It works really good on crabgrass and annuel bluegrass. It also gives the plants a good shot of nitrogen. I use it on my lawn and flower beds. I would say the gluten is about 80% effective preventing weeds. Dandylion, ground ivy and thistle are the tough ones to control no matter what you use. The best part is I don't have to worry about the kids or dogs having a reaction to an herbicide.

Corn gluten meal is an excellent pre-emergent.

Suppose there'll be price increases if they decide to use corn gluten meal as a biofuel

Now if only we could use dandelions for fuel...I'd have enough to top-up my car for life!
