Careful where you plant your palm tree!
It's always prudent to plant your palm in a well chosen site ... to avoid this!
Cheers, Barrie.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

It does seem to be beat up a little, amazing they got it to grow through that hole.Barrie wrote:I don't have any idea where the pic was taken. It was sent to me by a non-gardening friend who thought I might be amused.
As for "It looks to be doing well", it appears to have had the snot kicked out of it with the exposed location.
Cheers, Barrie.

you all might have the whole thing bass ackwards. Maybe the palm tree was there first and they built the house around it.
either way - it makes for interesting conversation.

Bad locations
It is amazing that people will plant palms close to their home and not consider how tall they grow. There is a motel on Capilano road were they planted three trachies right against the pool house. They eventually grew away from the building but now they are growing at an angle.
I guess people still think they will not grow here or at least very slowly.
