For all you Musa lovers...
Here are a few pics of my Musa 'Siam Ruby'
This has been a very nice little banana, hopefully it overwinters well!
Almost forgot to thank KNNN for the great idea of the laundry tubs as planters.
The wife didn't like the idea as much so I promised they were just temporary.

Ben how do you plan to overwinter that stud of a banana?
Kent in Kansas
where it's cold in winter (always)
and hot in summer (usually)

Thanks Dean!
Oppalm, This guy is getting overwintered in a pot inside where I have been growing my Alocasia Sarian for a few years. It really needs repotted with a faster drying mix. I'm afraid it will rot if I leave it in the soil it's in now.
Wes, you can get these guys from several places now for around $35
Briansbotanicals, Plant Delights
These guys seem to be very cold sensitive too, temps in the mid 40's started to effect some of the leaves on mine.

Ben - I learned from past mistakes, and you may know this, but when overwintering bananas inside , keep them on the dry side. I never water mine enough to allow water to drain out the bottom. I am happy to report I did not lose any bananas last winter to rot.
