Pic wanted
Hi all,
Does anyone have a pic of a Chinese fan palm seed? I have some seeds from Tampa, FLA and do not know exactly what they are, but they appear to look alot like a livistonia.

The thread here showed Livistona saribus, The L.chinensis seed is almost identical. These also have a blue colored fruit.

Hi Steve
Here is the link to a post concerning the same seed a few months ago.
http://www.palmsnorth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=608
The seed in question is near the bottom of the page and looks like a peanut without the shell. I am going to post some better photos of the seeds and seedlings to see if I can get them ID'ed.

Serenoa repens ?
Pretty sure we can rule out Livistona, Serenoa repens fruit is black when mature and seems like a possible match.

Cali ~ Nice looking seedlings but I'm still not sure, Hopefully someone here will recognize yours.
If I run across anything that looks close I'll send you the info.......
I've been starting to put together a photo album of seeds and seedlings to help with ID's
Has a ways to go but it is a start......
