Sorry there's nothing for scale, but it was easily 9 or 10 feet, very healthy looking.
Workers had already dug out huge Castor Bean plants in the bed behind the garden bench 15 minutes earlier.
Staff said "oh is that what it is?" when I told them it was papyrus.
It was to be potted up and placed in a greenhouse owned by the City at the Waste Treatment Plant.

I was admiring the spikes at its base...but nobody offered me one.

She's a beauty! I'm glad they dug it up since they don't like -100F too often! (A little exaggeration but you understand)
