Stunning variety, Henoh! :D

You're fortunate to live in a 7B where you have a good chance at all yuccas on your list surviving.

Great that the young elata beside the newly located aloifolia came through your awful winter totally unscathed.

Your yucca variegated gloriosa is going to bloom now?
I think that's what mine is...I first thought mine was an agave  because of the lethal tips.

Thanks!
Barb

Henoh, please take a guess at what mine is.
Could it be a y.gloriosa variegated, as in your first picture?

Thanks
Barb

A good collection of hardy Yuccas. I like the Rostrata which has a good mophead :D Are all of your Yuccas seed grown or do you buy plants? Lets hope you (and me) don't get another Siberian blast this Winter. Fortunately? my low was only -11C.

Thank you all!

@Barb, it could be a form of Yucca gloriosa 'Variegata' but I'm confused with thickness of leaves, and big spines. Maybe Tim Beham can help with identification.

@andym, half of them is seed grown, mostly from Mesa Garden, and Y, gloriosa, Y. gloriosa 'Variegata', Y. recurvifolia, Y. filamentosa/flaccida, Y. filamentosa 'bright edge', Y. rostrata originated from local nurseries. Winter minimum was about -18C and freezing temperatures (with daily maximum below zero Celsius) lasted almost two weeks .

Some have taken a stab at its ID, here:

http://palmsnorth.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... ight=agave

might be a Furcraea as Aaron suggests in that post.
Or an Agave Sissilana because of its deadly terminal spine?
Tim hasn't logged a guess yet.

great Yuccas everyone!

Henoh, let us know how Y. carnerosana grows for you.........very slow in my climate and will die back in cold winters.

Barb, did you photoshop that variegated Yucca? It's a beauty. It's not the standard form of Y. gloriosa variegata. Your colors are much brighter (and better looking too)! I'm not sure of the ID.....never seen that form before. It's kinda close to a variegated 'tiny star' gloriosa but I don't think yours is a tiny star. Tiny star is small too....yours looks larger. I'll post your Yucca on the German Yucca board......I'm sure someone can ID. There are a few Yucca collectors on that board who collect variegated Yuccas.

photoshop

I'd have to get a 6 year old to show me how

Sorry to hitch-hike on your thread, Henoh, but I thought mine was like yours.

Thanks Tim for the offer to help ID mine.
And I've got a couple of pups... :D spiny little buggers already.

Tim, only one unprotected seedling survive last, not too cold but very snowy and wet, winter. It's seems that carnerosana is not long term Yucca for my climate.

Yes, Y. carnerosana seedlings are marginal in colder/wet areas. They grow SO SLOW in my climate. I think they need warmer soil temperatures.
