Looks like rostrata, but could they be grass?

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I have found it an easy tactic to ask. Inevitably, the person in charge of plantings is delighted that someone noticed.
Bonus: this tactic has resulted in a lot of free or cheap plants....

Grass? Hope not.
Great tactic, Erik.
I'll take my snowshovel in case he offers.

I have you been by there yet! The suspense is killing me! j/k
I hope they are rostratas.
The only reason I think they might be grass is they look like someone has trimmed them.

Yup, you were right, Aaron!
They're
GRASS...dammit.

Huge disappointment!
Plus some of the "toddlers" were wondering how I got out (as though I was a resident

So--to console myself

thought I'd go visit the yuccas near the police station:

Yeah, one sweet ole' fella asked if I had any ice cream.
Almost went to the store to get him some...
And we thought winter only drove some of us crazy, huh?

When I was little my Mom worked at a nursing home. They had alarms on the doors so people could not escape. Some of the older people there wanted my brother and I to help break them out, and sometimes we would. We would almost make it across the packing before we would all get caught!

Glad you and your brother gave them something to smile about.
And a bit of excitement.
Bet your Mom (secretly) thought it was funny.
Today, a few folks were walking around in low-snow areas under the decks...maybe there's a wire in the grass and they're wearing a collar.
Arf. Arf.
One little old lady in a tiny red car was driving around smiling and waving at everybody, me included.
I saw her on every street in that complex (I was looking for the yuccas...er...a....grass.)
By the 3rd time, she waved wildly as though to say: "I've almost found the exit street".
They're sweet old folks, hope they're happy.

Yes...we laugh about it now, but at the time she was not smiling.

9F? Holy moly.
Hang in there, Tim.
The "upside" is that you finally got everything protected.
In the nick of time, too.
Folks are saying February's similar...I don't even want to look at the f'casts.
