Lady Palm? opinions

Post by sashaeffer » Mon Sep 12, 2011 11:56 am

Have done a search, but didn't come up with anything specific.

I've read what on the net about lady palms, and have always wanted one so looking for personal experience stories.

I suppose no chance to over winter one outside in my zone 6 area. Same nursery that had them, also had some nice Pygmy Date Palms as well.

Scott/Omaha.

Sorry this post got missed, Scott.

These were overused in offices years ago.
Haven't seen these palms in nurseries recently.

I recall they're easier to divide than, say, a bamboo palm.

Barb, they are a dime a dozen around here, but that doesn't mean they are inexpensive. Everything from small ones under $20 to over $200 (I bought a $20 one)

Wife likes it the best of all of the ones we have.

Good that W is developing an interest too.

As the plant-care article says, Rhapis likes to have consistently moist--not soggy--soil.
I tend to underwater...probably why I no longer have one.
