Man that sucks Tim...my condolences

I have your area in my stored sites on weatherunderground.

The temps have been so stratified this spring, even on Wednesday they are saying the
temps could very 35F across Iowa, like the other day when it was 35F there and 73F here.

We can only hope that when this pattern breaks it will move to more of a late spring like pattern.

I hate to wish spring away, our 80F + weather(as nice as it is to see the Nanars move out!)
was really a reminder how much I like spring to be spring!!!!-it seems the weather sometimes goes
from late winter to summer( some years) with very compressed springs.

I think when the next adjustment comes after this period of cold, you guys will get
in on the warmth more!!!!!! 8)

ARGHH!#$#!$#!$#!$!# The wind ripped all my plastic down last night.. winds gusted over 50 mph and there was 1/2 inch ice on the bird bath!!! OMG!!!!! I'm putting 5 gallon buckets over the pseudostems for the next week.

We're supposed to get 2 to 3 inches of snow tonight!!!!!

The wind is still gusting over 40 mph. I really hate this weather.

There is no wind (it has been never happened here), no frost (sometimes it's happened like in the year 2003 when minus 10.9 C was registered), no crazy rain. Everything is OK, lol. My "indoor" palms are outside now. Magnolia stellata is flourishing, as well as forsitia, apricots, plums and etc. Wish to everyone struggling with the cool spring having a plenty of sun and warm ASAP. Barb, I checked a forecast for your place - it drives me crazy!

Wxman and Jim- I'd keep an eye on this Tuesday night into Wednesday storm. Latest I saw shows significant snow accumulations just to my south and on to the east. Like 6 to 9 inches! As it looks now we look to get a dusting to an inch or two of slush being on the northern edge of the system with no accumulation on the pavement. Overnight lows in the low to mid 30s for a couple nights. Snow map is showing extreme southern MN, northern Iowa and east into central and southern WI getting a heavy, wet dumping of upwards of a foot of snow in some spots! Good luck guys!

We had a slushy 1/2 inch on the grassy areas (and palms) on this past Saturday morning from light snow during the overnight. It was gone by noon but it did look pretty cool on the palms. Should have taken pictures... Nice day Sunday (yesterday) and then a sh&t mid week ahead, then finally getting back to normal by the weekend and beyond. Will spring ever actually arrive and stay?

Tim

I was wondering how you made out with the wind we had the other day
as well as where that snow went that I saw on the radar this morning.

2 more colder storm systems before things(hopefully) warm up.

Luckily I am tucked into the far southeast corner of the state
and we miss out on most of the cold/snow they see even 150 miles north of me!

That sucks Tim

I feel for you.

When I start to get pissy about the weather here.......
I just think about what you guys are enduring and
it helps me put it in perspective...that said,it will
be very surprising if all the very small Colocasia/Alocasia
I planted live through this,I am afraid all the melting hail
has seriously lowered the soil temps,if they can just make it through
tonight and tomorrow night I think the worst will be over here, anyway.

Reminds me,I need to check the E.glaucum and see if it got shredded.
:(

Good thing.
