The first two pics look like they could be recurvifolia, but what is the bottom pic?
Just to see the snow off the ground and three nice pics of yuccas, makes me want to work in my yard!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I'm not really sure what type of yucca it is? Someone suggested it might be a yucca glauca but looking at the leaves they look to wide to be a glauca.
I was tempted today to start work on my new cacti bed with all this mild weather we are having.

Jay

I know what you mean

I was outside all yesterday, and hoed weeds. Just as soon as the dirt dries out, I will be digging in up!

Looks like my new Y. Rigdas may not make it
![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
I should have covered them ther first year with hot caps
![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
But.....who knows maybe they will make it, or at the least come back from the roots. The next time I plant Y. Rigda, I will grow them to a larger size first.

That's too bad.
![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
Hopefully they will come back for you. How big were they when you planted them? Those rostratas that you gave me are germinating like mad.
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Thanks again.

Jay

OH..... they were pint size seedlings, but by the end of summer they were nice one gallon size, except for one I planted in the fall (seedling) he is looking ok? That one could be a Y. Tompsoniana I labled wronge?

I am planning on getting a few 1 gallon size y. elatas this spring and i wonder if i should cover them next winter if we get a bad cold spell? Maybe they will grow some decent roots by winter time.

Jay

I would

they are kown for freezing back when they are young. They should come back from the root if the do, but will slow down growth. You should only have to do this for the first year.

Yes I have grown Y. shidigera
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
I have 2 in my yard on their second winter. They are hit and miss in a zone 6. Some will be hardy but some will die around 5 deg f. They are very cool, and I hope mine keep growing.
Hey Jay, can we get the Emoticons with the smily guys doing a cheers with the beer?
Thanks Jay!
