Please allow me to brag about new leaves

Post by Kansas » Sun Jul 23, 2006 7:02 am

I was so worried about my King Sago's. Last summer, I pot planted 3 of them in the front of my old house.
2 of them put out new flushes, but got beat the crap out of by Hail. So when we moved out in Sept, I pulled the pots out. To my horrification, the roots had shot out the bottom and when I pulled, they broke. I put the pots in sand at my folks for 3 weeks, then repotted in new soil and sand. I was terrified of the broken roots.
HOWEVER!!!!
My one King that had NEVER flushed in two years, just finished opening a set of 6.
The two that had broken roots, 1 is currently opening a set of 10 and the other is opening a set of 13. I think 13 is an amazing amount for it.
OK, thanks for letting me vent.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
