OP, here is your old Foxtail you sent me. It is currently starting to open up a new leaf as you can see. This Summer it shot out three leafs. I so appreciative of this OP.

very nice wes. I posted a picture of mine the other day on another thread. Yours look like it has grown faster than mine. They germinated within a few days of each other. Heres the pic, it was just taken the other day.

I think yours is a lot greener than mine thou. I watered a LOT and gave it a lot of heat in the greenhouse. Seemed to be constantly putting on a leaf. The leafs take soooo long to open thou

I'll post a picture of mine in the next couple of days. Mine has spent the last 3 months under a fluorescent light in the basement and so far looks great. Nice job Wes. When you get it to about 6 feet in height I'd like to have it back please. LOL.

Heres a picture of my little foxtail, taken today 2/16/2008. It appears to be of similar size. Mine has been living under flourescent lighting in my basement all winter and it is doing great. Good color, even pushing a little growth. They apparently like artificial light.

Yes, I agree 110%. I am so happy about this palm you gave me because it is one of my favorite palms and I was so worried that I would kill it

But in all reality, it is a VERY simple tree to grow with little work, it gives maximum satisfaction.
I know I said this before, but i want to thank you again for it. I just LOVE it!!!

I agree they are easy palms to grow. No fuss, no muss. I have one thats about 6 foot tall I post a picture of it tomorrow on this thread. I bought it from a guy in Florida for $5 and $12 to ship it and he sent along 5 seeds of which 3 germinated , you have one and I have 2.

Thats the ONLY downfall to this tree is that it takes FOREVER to open new fronds. The fronds grow, they just do not open!

The guy no longer sells on ebay, I don't know what happened to him. I have had this one for just over a year (I think) and it just about doubled in size last year. It was sent in a one of the those triangle mailing boxes and was about 3' tall when I got it. The fronds do take a long time to open, you can see this one has a new spear shooting up and has had it all winter, when I put it outside it will open pretty fast in the spring time.

It is snowing like crazy here this morning (Sunday morning). Probably about 4" on the ground they are saying 4-6" before its all over. If you want to be a peeping tom, you can see the snow on the ground outside the window.
