macario I bet your daughters are very appreciative of that lovely back yard in summer...palm, pool...and the girls having fun all day long, I bet. You scored some really good plants for those prices. When I think of what we Cdns would pay...I shudder! A large clay pot is $125.00 ... rip-off! Loved l...

Confused or Lazy Calamondin Orange
It's doing everything at once.
Blooming, green young fruit, and one ripe fruit!
Is this wild or what?
I live for this fragrance!

yuccaman, seems your weather's about the same as ours (except today is bloody cold, even tho banner says +9...maybe in my kitchen! -5C tonite). Brrrr. I'm a conifer nut, and very early spring is perfect for planting things like (my favorites) mugo pines, dwarf spruces, etc. Pardon lousy pics, old ca...

macario those are nice purchases, great prices. They sure don't look like bouncing around in the vehicle from Nevada to your home did 'em any harm. And hey, did everyone see macario's OTHER PICS (bottom left on his links page). Stunning thompsoniana, and WOW last year's garden with all those palms i...

Allen, Ok if you take my rocks too :D Your socks stuck to garage walls ??!!  spiderman, ha! Man, with a 15' rake handle, make some chiropractor appointments. Ouch. Good for the beltline though. Blow it back on the weekend when we cool off yet again. Iris is a pretty tough plant...good to ...

cedardave, what a good idea...a hot tub and all those palms around. And that humidity! No wonder the palms love it. Man, you'd forget you were in Winnipeg! Re the beer cups, excellent. I use the large styrofoam coffee cups, good too, but they tend to be a bit top heavy. It's been a long winter, and ...

Wow, tons of rain for greater Vancouver (nice you had that sunshine break, Wes). Barrie, you're in a bit of a rainshadow I believe? Jay, we got even less than you, drier than a bone, just mowed the lawn and I got more DUST than grass in the catcher. :x Cough cough (time to stop for a cigarette) :oop...

I'm for that, Allen. A couple of days ago the forecast for Edmonton was snow, and I thought I could hear you swearing... We're warmer now...10 to 12 daytime, not quite near zero at night, but man the winds in our exposed location are brutal. Very strong winds, bloody cold if you're not diggi...

Wes...that pic is one of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen! 20 feet, a 2 gallon plant 14 years ago. Man how these things thrive on the Coast! You folks must've laughed your brains out seeing my 30 year old palm that is obviously (now I know!) stunted from being in a succession of pots all thes...

Sorry for fuzzy pic, but man, oh man, my Jade Tree has never been prettier.
Started blooming in November, so this is month five.

Hey Allen, glad you got some pics up. That first pic, the rhodo, looks like it made it, mine always droops its leaves when it's exposed to cold winds. And that buddleia sticking out of the snow is FINE (trust me!), but remember when it gets warm (not before), say around 1st week of April, prune ALL ...

John, thanks for those great pics. I also like the look of that second pic palm with its straight-as-an-arrow trunk. It's so clean looking, presumably November's huge windstorm would've torn all the old leaves off? Allen, I love your theory... if it grows in White Rock, it might grow in Edmonton !!!...

Barrie it's good you've got seed, but still a shame to lose a beauty that size. Their leaves' spectacular colour really draw the eye in any landscape. Nate, wow, what a job jar...so exciting! Oh Barrie that is a shame :( ...but can the section on the right (in pic), which is still somewhat upright, be saved by doing a clean cut with saw or pruners where the left section tore off? Some tree paint would keep insects out (and save sap). Did it happen yesterday? We had a hell of a windstorm ...

Don, I really feel for your wife. She's likely discovered ways to minimize the effects...it's a horrible disease. Reducing stress seems to be key. Don, thanks for recovery wishes for husband--the pain is subsiding somewhat. Your wife's had shingles more than once???? That must be awful..and inside? At least one wouldn't scratch! Minus 1 tonight...mama's sweatin bricks about baby cactus, ficus benji and trachy outside...I wrapped them up with so many blankets, I think the cactus and fig will suffocate (or the mice will move in).
