Thanks Barb, I thought it was about time I got more of a hardy palm for my zone. The house is already full of tropicals.

I was wondering what you all use for potting soil on Cycads I have some Dioons and Zamias that seem to be staying to wet after recent rains. I'm thinking of adding more perlite to their soil. Is this is a good time of year or should I wait tell Spring?

Dean those should do very well for you in central Texas. They sure look like the W.filifera of the Sabal species.They have very similar characteristics except growth rates IMO. thanks for the response. I did fertilize on June 1 with a Jacks 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer that has boron .02%, copper .05%, iron .10%, magnese .05%, molybdenum .0009% and zinc at .05%. sorry I did not mention that earlier.
