nice collection of southwest plants. How cold did you get to kill a recurvifolia? There's only one form which regularly dies to the ground here in Massachusetts (same form?). Rob from Tenn. sent me a small sucker from a Tenn. native Y. gloriosa/recurvifolia which is on steroids. Everyone should hav...
Nice Jay. Mine are almost all still 'sleeping', but we have delayed spring here due to proximity to the GLs... Pedios have not even bloomed here yet! What form of basilaris is that? I can get every form through my winters EXCEPT O. basilaris var. basilaris... I just can't find one that stands up to...
Here's some of my yuccas and cacti this Spring. Some of the cacti are still sleeping. Hopefully they will wake up soon. :) http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour/Plant%20pics/DSCF1517-1.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour/Plant%20pics/DSCF1518-1.jpg http://i802.photobu...
I thought this would be a good thing to offer for our members or anyone that
has a website that is related to our passion and wants some visitors to their business.
Looks like a nice day today so I might just have to take some pics later.
Nice pics of those Y.recurvifolia. It looks like they`ve been there for a while. Coldest was -17c they suffered through this winter end of Nov.2010. It would be nice to see more people planting these Yuccas in the Valley. Got any pics of yours in the yard Jay? John I'll get some pics of mine soon. ...
I would have to say they are my favorite yuccas. :) Not sure on the exact lows for that area but i'm sure it gets cold. Never had a chance to look for seeds so not sure. @John - That would be a cool designation. My fear is someday they will tear that place down to build condos. Can only hope they wi...
Stopped for dinner on our way home and noticed these cool looking yucca recurvs in Penticton BC Canada. Looks like they have been there for some time. Awesome looking. :) http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour/Plant%20pics/DSCF1453.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour/P...
I was driving through Oroville Wa. yesterday and thought I should get a couple after winter pics of the famous Yucca Elata in Oroville Washington. They still look great. :) http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour/Plant%20pics/DSCF1450.jpg http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/jaylatour...
The cost might go up but they are trying to go after the heavy users who go over the limit they are allocated for the month. As it stands those heavy users don't usually get billed more so they say that they pass the costs of bandwidth use on to all of us. Small ISPs buy bandwidth from the big playe...
Not worried. Won't affect the majority of internet users. Unless you watch lots of movies etc. online everyday.
I'm sure most users won't be over on usage every month.
I don't like the way they put it through. It's bad news for small ISPs.
WOW, that is so cool. Thanks for sharing Jay. icon_cool.gif Hey thanks Aaron. Happy to share. :) That's to bad you can't do that in the winter, that would really help pass the time. Do you have a spot you could set up a little paint studio in your basement? Don't have a basement. The fumes would be...
That is very impressive and very cool! Love the way you layer everything. Must be very rewarding and very calming to get so involved in it. Thanks. :) Yeah it feels great after the painting comes out the way I want it to. Very rewarding feeling. My goal this summer is to trade paintings for beer. I...
Very enjoyable, but I must say my arms starting hurting watching all that swaying motion from the spray cans.!LOL Great job~ Thanks, Yeah after a few paintings they start to hurt. :) Cool, Jay! I noticed you were wearing a respirator. Keep some of the fumes down, huh? We used to have a person in dow...
Any artists in here? I taught myself how to do spray paint art last summer. Always thought how awesome it was seeing the artists in Las Vegas do it so I wanted to learn how to do it myself. :) Here's a couple of vids I made last summer. I had to speed up the vids so they weren't too long. <embed wid...
Barb the Oak tree is staying put. We are going to trim up the branches to near 3/4 of the top of the tree so that the palms and yuccas, cactus, agave and other plantings will have enough sun underneath. The plantings include two 24"crated Butia capitata, one crated Mediteranean fan palm ,two 24&q...
