Hey, I believe that low hedge is ligustrum vulgare, pretty tough and robust plant to create thick hedges. Needs constant pruning to maintain its thickness and shape :)

Pretty palm I'd say :) I brought one germinated nut from Tobago and it is already pushing second leaf under lamp. I'm giving it constant heat and it is moving.

Everything looking good! The amount of trachies create almost jungleish atmosphere.
Do I see correct you have some sort strelitzias there? How sensitive are the plants roots for planting out in spring and digging out in the fall? Or are these kept only in pots?

Things have really been growing! Is that green form of ensete or the red maurellii? It's kinda green for maurelli and too reddish for regular ensete ventricosum.

Wow, I guess you sure get the attention of people who are passing by your house. I love the different varieties of bananas you have, did you grow them from a seed or bought as a plants? Last year I managed to grow from a seed only green ensete and musa sikkimensis which are quite large now.

Nowadays there are ladders which are foldable :) BTW the trachy looks great for an oldie :lol: I´m starting with new trachy in late april when it is warm enough. It looks 10 times better than the one in bad- or dead condition originally looked and it has a rootball which is good for a while.

Hmm maybe you guys in Canada have more advanced technology used in ropelights :) Mine is 150 w pure heat, thats why it went black in some parts..Miscalculations and I don´t have thermostat at the moment I´m thinking of getting one for the next winter.I´m not that stupid to put led lights for heating...
