Yes, my greenhouse has the wavy polycarbonate type panels. Sorry for the late reply as I don't get here often.

Soil medium
You mentioned that the water drains out quickly. You might try mixing some potting soil in with your potting mix to slow the drainage somewhat. Also I top dress my larger potted plants with mulch to slow evaporation and stop soil splash out when watering, not to mention it looks good too. I too use ...

Another thing......
Wow!!!! I thought I had Dwarf Palmetto's here. I bought them from Aarons Nursery which I think is affiliated with TyTy. Well, they went into the ground today. Sorry about the confusion. I was not trying to trick anyone. Not sure but from your photos, it looks like the Meds also have scale. Randall

what I'd do
I'd remove the flower and about 1/3 of the fronds so that it can focus all its energy on new root establishment. Sounds like its struggling to maintain its fronds and flower while also trying to establish new roots. As others have mentioned, could be getting too much water as well. Make sure the soi...

could just be transplant shock
what type fertilizer did you use, you didn't mention.
Removing some of the lower fronds will help it use more energy for root establishment.
Did you amend your soil when planting?
Are you keeping the soil moist but not overly wet?
Need more info to help.

Re: Compost tips
My last post about Kansas's silt he got for his palms reminded me of something. I cannot get a good batch of compost to save my life! Does anyone in any hot dry climate have suggestions? Most of the suggestions I have read are written by garden writers in the Mid-Atlantic states, for Mid-Atlantic g...

[quote="Mark"]Dan,
Do tell me how that Windmill from Paridise is. I was thinking of ordering from there as well or TyTy Nursery. Good luck with your new palms and take some pics.

TY-TY has a very disturbing reputation.

Check spear
Check new emerging spear at top of trunk. Give it a tug and see if it releases from trunk.
If it pulls, treat for pests and use a copper fungicide in the top.
