Cool.
Digging up that queen then? right? Looks like you got some nice big specimens this year, Like that queen and Adonidia or is it a king palm. And is that a Butia in the pot? Sago's look great too!! Where you getting these from?

Yes. All my palms continue to grow quite well through the winter. I have a pretty bright sunny house (when it is sunny) and keep them close to windows where they get direct sun. I use the miracle grow fertilizer when I water every week. My palms seem to do almost as good as outside without being bea...

Queen palms take a beating and still stand
Too cool not to share.
Took this during a bad summer storm. It was pretty scary. Too bad my camera ran out of memory before the worst of it.
Enjoy

Got a new Bismarkia at H.D. and talked them down to $30. It was totally pot bound and crooked in the pot. I re-potted it and it looks great. Can't wait for it to take off and GROW! Here's a couple of pics. http://www.postimage.org/gx1zIT_A.jpg http://www.postimage.org/gx1zIYZS.jpg Mark [/img]

Fungus among us.
I'm not sure what's up. One of Pygmy Palms has 7 trunks or stems 8 to 12 inches. I knoticed one of them looked as if it was dying. I squeezed the trunk and it was mushy. I pulled the spear and it came out. This is Fungus correct? Should I cut the one trunk out. Can it spread to the rest of my ...

Opplam, I'm sorry I cannot embrace them. I hate bugs on/in my plants. I have never had these Gnats before and they driving me nuts. Like you said buzzing in your face. I read that the larva will feed on the roots and can damage the plants and they just keep breading in the soil. I have 9 palms in my...

Dean, I recently got a Sago, W.Robusta, Triangle, Spindle and King. They started in the Sago after I repotted. Since then I've repotted all the rest of the these which I got about a month ago. I've been watering once a week. I've also been misting all of these which has probably led to keeping the s...

I've tried to let them dry out and I've watered in some BT ( maybe the wrong kind) , got the sticky yellow things to catch them but can't seem to get them under control...

Macario, I checked out Jamaican Gardens on Sunday. Awsome. I bought four new palms. A Washy, King, Triangle and Spindle. Can't thank you enough for telling me about it. I was like a kid in a candy store. I can't wait to check out the others you mentioned and go back to Jamaican again! I'm on a roll ...
