Thnaks for the info

Hey everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the info on my palms. Just wanted to keep you posted and tell you that they are growing up nicely. very green. no signs of damage to the new fronds. I will post pics of my before and after backyard in a little bit.

Hey barb, thanks for the reply. I picked up fertilizer spikes that have a ratio of 12-6-12 with manganese. I wanted to go with a slow release and i figured that the spikes would work well.....any thoughts on that??

no we didnt have any lights on the trees this winter. I recently purchased two small green houses that we will use to winterize them for the winter this year. hopefully they work better. thanks for all the info guys. Im gonna do a soil test tomorrow to see if there is anything going on with that. Marc

In the ground. I wqs told to never put them in pots unless you want to bring them inside.

They are still getting good growth so i hope them green up soon too

I live in st. Catharines. I had them protected untill early march. We had them tied up and wrapped in white cloth winter protection we got from rice road gardens. It seems as though the dried out over the winter. I didnt take any pics of them in he winter...sorry

Palms in spring, is this a deasese??

I planted these palms last summer, after opening up the protection from the winter I noticed that the ends of most of the fronds had dried out. I cut off all of the dried out parts (as you can see). I got 2 palms from rice road last summer, the winter protection is key. We had them wrapped for the winter but I believe that the wind protection was not good enough as we now have some browning of the fronds. We still have considerable growth so the concern is minimal.
