Bought a coconut palm... need help with getting things going.
So, i was at Myirles today and saw the palm right there. I wanted one so I bought it and when i got it back home and realized I didn't really know anything about growing them. I had better luck with the cold hardy palms than tropical palms.

I've never done research on this but I too wait until they turn dark. Would be fun to find out if germination success differes between early/green and late/dark. 'Cause, if you wait too long the birds get them. :lol: Not useless I put a Bag over them LOL!... Well they do it with the date palms at ...

Sorry to hear of the losses folks. I don't think anybody can trust their zones anymore. Everyone's had so many mild winters in a row. I had to cut down my Bananas we had a nasty frost today. I Cut them down yesturday on my Birthday they were all about 8 feet tall.
