As you can see by the Tennis ball, the caudex size is a bit bigger than a softball, but the leafs stand about 3 1/2' tall from the center. This tree has not flushed yet this year so I am think...

I found that with one of my DIoon Edule (first one to flush this year) that with them too, if you cut old flushes off, it will force another flush. I went ahead and cut the old flush leaves off the first one to flush which looks a lot like your Steve, hopeing it will force another soon. You can do ...

OP, I have been letting some of my trees stay in water for a while now. As long as you don't do it in the Winter, I think you'll be fine. I have a Canary Island Date Palm from Steve that gets watered every two days and it sets in the saucer of water for one of those. Thing is visibly growing every d...

Yea Steve, I dug up a bunch to send to Robert of wild yuccas around Junction City and the roots go WAY WAY WAY down. After breaking about 3 of them's roots, I gave up on the big ones and started digging up the younger ones. Good luck! :( BTW, if you want me to give you directions on where to go in J...

Re: King Sago
My Sago palms seeds have finally germinated. I acquired some seeds last winter and after 6 months they have finally germinated and are starting to grow. I had no idea they would take this long to germinate however I am finding out some tropical plant species take considerable time in germination of...

This species usually takes about 6 months, but the seeds will not likley be any good if you (or some...

You know what, I do not use cow manure on these. The manure only goes on cycad/dioons. With these, I kept in the greenhouse over winter and when temps got higher than 60 with lows no lower than high 40's, I put them outside in the landscape. People told me that I was going to kill them cause it was ...

These USED to be one of my hardest to grow. Now that I have found out the almost human like nature of these with their likeing one thing for a month then needing to change something, they are one of my easiest. However, I really wish they would stop selling these in 4-5 trees to a pot. I really like...

Laaz, you will get the most out of this....the tornado blew so strong that it blew the Amp peds over and yanked them out of the ground, which in turn ripped the cable in half. That is a new development where most the cable is UG, but of coarse is fed by aerial cable which got blown away. GOOD Over T...
